DESCRIPTION:**EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT**We’ll be in the James Crutchfield Room \nThis meeting will be part 1 of a 3 part  ‘Power Connecting Series’. More info on the series below\, this week’s activity is Connection Cards.—–Hello Lean In St Louis! We have an event this week that is open to all looking to meet some new people and get a taste of what a lean in circle meeting feels like. Here are the details\, we’d love to see you there! You can come to all 3 or pick and choose – there’s no committment needed to attend all 3. \nPOWER CONNECTING SERIES with the Saint Louis Regional Lean In Chapter \nHave you ever left a networking event with a pocket full of business cards but that feeling of regret that you didn’t connect DEEPLY with anyone? This series of events is designed to create a meaningful experience of connection with your fellow attendees. Connection activities are focused on sharing personal stories and benefiting from the perspectives\, ideas\, experiences\, and support of your fellow attendees. The goal of these activities is to better get to know your peers in the room\, push yourself outside of your comfort zone\, and create meaning connections and friendships with those in the room. \nThe leaders of the Saint Louis Regional Chapter of Lean In are passionate about leadership development\, gender equality\, and empowering others to leap towards their dreams with gusto! This series of events will provide different experiences that are similar to what you would find if you attended a Lean In meeting. Lean In is a global community of men and women dedicated to encouraging women to lean in to their ambitions! Lean In Circles are designed to create an intimate setting where attendees can learn\, grow\, challenge\, and encourage each other. Lean In is as much a movement for men as it is for women. It’s all about recognizing how we hold ourselves back and removing those barriers by utilizing community\, education\, and lean in circles! We hope to connect with you at these events as we work to build a more equal world together!! \nCONNECTION ACTIVITIESNO FEAR WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WEREN’T AFRAID?In this session\, the Lean In Regional Leaders will challenge attendees to dig deep and ask themselves this profound question that comes up often in the book ‘Lean In’ by Sheryl Sandberg. So often\, the biggest obstacle in our way is fear. We’ll talk about overcoming fear\, taking risks\, and get to know the room as we challenge one another to Lean In and answer this question! \nCROSS THE LINEParticipants will line up in 2 lines (one of each side of the room facing one another). One of us will read a statement. If the statement is something that you agree with\, take a step forward. We will then reset after each statement. This activity will not only allow us to identify the similarities and differences that we have amongst the group\, but it will also lead to some meaningful conversations about leadership and team dynamics. This activity often leads to deep sharing and bonding with many participants leaving the room feeling more connected to others than they had before. \nCONNECTION CARDSIn this session\, we’ll create an intimate setting where attendees use a deck of cards to facilitate the process of sharing deep information with one another quickly through a series of questions.
