About Lean In STL
Utilizing resources from LeanIn.org, Lean In STL facilitates a variety of research-driven skill building and community events throughout the year. We lead monthly meetings in the Spring and Fall that include activities and discussion related to issues women tend to face in the workplace and beyond.
Since 2016, we have led sessions at Venture Cafe on a variety of topics ranging from Equal Pay and negotiation to talking about sexual harassment in the workplace.
Since 2018, our leadership team has volunteered with Marion Middle School to facilitate “Lean In Club” during their Spring trimester, doing activities with 5th-8th grade girls to build their confidence and leadership skills, and also introducing them to professionals in the St. Louis community that are working in career fields they may be interested in.
Examples of other events we’ve hosted include a Personal Finance event in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and Equal Pay events in partnership with LeanIn.org and Lean In Women of Color.
